Located in the southwest of Mallorca, in the municipality of Calvià and only 20 minutes from Palma Airport, is Palmanova Beach, a beach of exquisite quality considering its proximity to the city of Palma.
It is made up of three beaches that are almost joined together: Son Maties, Es Carregador and Na Nadala; all of them can boast of having some of the best cristal clear waters – very typical of the area of Calvià – and a half-kilometre long sandy beach length, although the latter has occasionally required a artificial regeneration due to currents which cause changes in its coastline depending on the time of year.
The area where Palmanova Beach is located takes a 180º turn in winter and summer. In the low season, as in all of the island’s tourist areas, everything is calm and quiet, but with the arrival of summer and the first tourists, especially from the UK, the area is once again reactivated and comes to life. Bars, hotels and businesses reopen their doors and will not close for several months.

How to get to Palmanova Beach
The connections to get to Palmanova Beach are more than good. You can get there by car or by public transport and, if you are a “two-wheeled” lover, you can get there by bicycle along the coast, alternately using the cycle path and the road.
How to get to Palmanova Beach by car
If you have decided that your trip to Mallorca should not involve keeping an eye on the bus timetables and you prefer to get around on four wheels, then we recommend that you use the car as a means of transport.
If you do not have your own vehicle, we recommend that you use a car hire price comparator in Mallorca to make a reservation, as you will be able to consult all the rental options available for the dates and choose the company that best suits your needs.

If your accommodation is located anywhere on the island, except in the areas of the Sierra de Tramuntana and Andratx, you must first make your way to Palma. Once there, all you have to do is take the Ma-1, then exit 13 and continue along the Ma-1015 to Palmanova beach.
If you are coming from the Sierra de Tramuntana, the route can be longer and more complicated as the roads are narrower and traffic is much slower. From Andratx it is about 20 minutes by car, a distance of 15 km following the Ma-1.

Where to stay in Palmanova
Palmanova is a tourist village very close to Palma and Magaluf, but with a much quieter atmosphere. It is a good area to stay in, and is one of our favourites, as it is well connected and combines the tranquillity of its beautiful beaches with the nightlife of neighbouring Magaluf.
Prices are a little more expensive than in Magaluf, but it’s definitely worth getting away from the hustle and bustle when it’s time to relax. If you are traveling with your family or are looking to combine relaxation and leisure… Don’t hesitate! This is your area.
