The tourist bus in Palma is one of the best ways to discover the main monuments and attractions of the capital of Mallorcaeither by taking the tour from the vehicle, where you can have a privileged view of the city, or by getting on and off at the different stops and visiting the main points of interest yourself.

Getting around Palma by tourist bus

How does the tourist bus work in Palma?

Depending on the type of ticket you choose, you can use it for 24 or 48 hours from the time you first board the bus and the ticket is activated. For example, if you buy a 24-hour ticket and you get on the bus for the first time at 12 noon on Monday, your ticket will be valid until 12 noon on Tuesday.

🚏 During this time you will be able to hop on and off at any of the 16 bus stops as many times as you like.

Although you will be asked for a start date when you book, you can use the service for twelve months after the date indicated, so you don’t have to worry about setting a specific date.

You will be able to use your ticket at any time during your journey. We recommend that when you book you select the day that you arrive to Mallorca and, from there, use the service on the day that best suits your route.

Timetables and frequency of the tourist bus in Palma

The red line of the tourist bus in Palma operates every day from 10 am to 7 pm, with a frequency of between 25 and 30 minutes.

Please note:

  • Stop 8 (Poble Espanyol): the last bus that serves stop 8 leaves from stop 1 (Antoni Maura) at 5pm and arrives at stop 8 at approximately 5.20pm.
  • Stop 9 (Castell de Belllver): the last bus that serves stop 9 leaves from stop 1 (Antoni Maura) at 17:30h and arrives at stop 9 at approximately 18:10h.

Palma’s tourist boat operates from May to October, with departures every hour from 11:00 to 15:00 from Monday to Saturday.

Types of tickets

When booking the tourist bus in Palma, you can choose between the following types of tickets:

24-hour ticket

You will be able to get on and off at any of the 16 stops of the tourist bus in Palma for 24 hours.

24-hour ticket + Castell de Bellver

In this option, as well as having the Palma de Mallorca tourist bus ticket included, you will be able to enter into the Castell de Bellver (bear in mind that entry to the castle is free on Sundays).

24-hour ticket + sights + boat trip

In addition to the 24-hour tourist bus ticket, you will have included the entrance to the Castell de Bellver and Es Baluard Museum; and between April and October, a ride on Palma’s tourist boat.

48-hour ticket + sights + boat trip

Includes the 48-hour ticket for the Palma tourist bus and the ticket for the Palma tourist boat (from April to October), as well as the admission to the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Bellver Castle and the Museum of Es Baluard.

You will be able to cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your chosen travel date.

Price of the Palma tourist bus for local residents in 2023

Initially, the tourist bus was free for people living in Mallorca, but in 2013 the operator stopped offering it free of charge.

There is currently a discount of approximately 50% for local residents, but this can only be obtained by paying directly on the bus and only if you can prove your residency status beforehand.
