There are several ways to get to Santa Ponsa, but before deciding which means of transport you want to use to get around the island, you should be clear about the type of trip to Mallorca you want to make. If you intend to stay in this beach area and not move around the island, it is best to use public transport or private transfer services to get to your hotel.

If you want to stay in Santa Ponsa but with a clear intention to move around to visit the most interesting places in Mallorca, then we recommend you to think about a rental car that you can pick up at Palma Airport, if you arrive to the island by plane.

Santa Ponsa is a very busy tourist centre, so it also has a public transport service to the airport and to the capital, Palma de Mallorca.

Getting to Santa Ponsa by car

If you want to get there from Palma, you must take the Ma-1 motorway. As we were saying, the distance is 21.7 km, which will take you about 25 minutes to complete.
From other parts of the island such as Alcudia and Pollensa, in the north, it will take you about an hour, but the road is good so the drive will be quite pleasant.

From the centre of the island, for example from Sineu, 58 km separate you from Santa Ponsa.

From other mountainous parts of the island, where the curves are endless and the route time can be considerably longer, such as Valldemossa, Deiá or Sóller, we recommend that, unless you want to see and contemplate the marvellous views, you go first to Palma and from there to Santa Ponsa.

Getting to Santa Ponsa by public transport

As we have been saying, if your idea is to arriving to Mallorca by plane, you must know that the Airport of Sant Joan is located 30 kms away from Santa Ponsa, so if you want to get from the airport by public transport, first you will have to go to the bus stop in the “Arrivals” area, and when you leave the terminal take the A1 line. This bus has a fare of €5.

You will not be able to get there directly by public transport, you will have to go through Palma first. There, get off at Plaza de España and at the Parc de las Estaciones, opposite, take bus number 103 to your destination.

Cala Blanca in Costa de la Calma

The beach of Cala Blanca is also known as Costa de la Calma, as it is located within the well-known urbanisation, a beautiful and very picturesque corner of this southern area of the island of Mallorca.

Cala Blanca is a beach with crystal clear waters and white sand, surrounded by cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation. It is a much less frequented beach than the previous ones, which gives it a greater sense of tranquillity and intimacy.

In this corner there is a clear differentiation of public, as foreign tourists tend to prefer the sandy part, while Spanish visitors prefer the stone area with the beach bar. Yes, we love bars!
