Do you want to know which are the 5 best Mallorca’s beaches to go with children? Take note of this!

Puerto de Alcudia beach

Playa de Alcudia is located in the area of Puerto de Alcudia, in the north of the island. This beach is perfect to visit with children as it is entirely sandy and sheltered from strong waves. Kids will be able to play without being covered by the water, as it is shallow for a large distance.

This beach is equipped with all the necessary facilities for the convenience of families: lifeguard, showers, hammocks and parasols for hire, and restaurants; as well as the possibility of practicing a multitude of water sports and activities such as kayaking, windsurfing and water skiing.

As it is located in the coastal town of Puerto de Alcudia, you will also find supermarkets, bars, restaurants and small self-service shops that will provide you with fresh water and snacks to take to the beach.

Playa de Muro

Playa de Muro is undoubtedly a perfect beach to go with children and one of the best beaches in Mallorca, in general.

Awarded with the Blue Flag, it is one of the Spanish beaches that has made it into the ranking of the 25 best beaches in the world and the 25 best beaches in Europe of the “Best of the best by Travellers’ Choice (Tripadvisor)” awards in the year 2023.

It is located in the north of the island on a privileged environment, since nature and beach form the perfect combination, but without renouncing to comfort, as you will have at your disposal all the facilities you may need, such as bars, restaurants, self-service shops, pharmacies and even medical centres nearby, as well as deck chairs and parasols for rent, lifeguard and showers on the beach itself.

Cala Gran

Located in Cala d’Or, one of the best places to stay in Mallorca, in the municipality of Santanyí you will find Cala Gran. This beach is comparable to Playa de Muro in terms of its beauty and availability of services and for holding the Blue Flag award.

The Mediterranean sea waters, which are calm and peaceful in themselves, are even more so in Cala Gran. It is an inlet of water sheltered by cliffs, which will protect you from the easterly winds, and with a beautiful seabed, so tranquillity in its waters is guaranteed for you and your children.

The big difference with the previous beach is its small size, which means that during the summer season it is quite busy despite being the largest cove in the Cala d’Or area.

It has a leafy pine forest under which you can take shelter from the harsh Mallorca sun and it has walkways that make it easy to get to and from the beach with pushchairs, a restaurant, toilets, showers, hammocks and parasols for rent, and a lifeguard.

Son Moll

Another one of the best beaches in Mallorca to go with children is Son Moll beach, in the northeast of the island.

This beach is located at the entrance of Cala Ratjada, in Capdepera, a tourist town par excellence, so you will find all the necessary facilities for the comfort of the family, both on and off the beach. Restaurants, shops, shopping centres, self-service stores, souvenir shops, pharmacies… and even a couple of beach bars on the seafront.

Although surrounded by hotels and apartments, some of them quite high, it has calm, shallow waters and a landscape of rocks and pine trees to the right, which reduces the human impact on the environment.

It is a family friendly beach and it is safe for children. It has lifeguard services, showers, toilets and sunshades and deckchairs for hire.

This beach will delight children as it has various water activities and a play area just outside the beach. It has a substantial surveillance team, as although it is a calm water beach, it is very large, with a width of 500 meters.

It has changing rooms, toilets, showers and parasols for hire, as well as trees under which you can take shelter from the sun.

For you, who want your children to have everything they need, the beach is located in the village of Palmanova, so you will also find supermarkets, pharmacies, bars and restaurants close by.
