Es Caló des Moro is one of those wonders that nature has sculpted over time to create an inlet of blue water and sandy soil that is well worth seeing and visiting at least once during your trip to Mallorca.
Es Caló del Moro has become one of the island’s main tourist attractions due to the beauty of the beach itself, with its turquoise, crystal-clear waters, and its wild, rugged surroundings, far from the urban centres that are so common in these latitudes.
It is located in the southeastern part of the island of Mallorca, between the also beautiful beaches of Cala s’Almunia and Cala Llombards, and is surrounded by high cliffs with vertical drops to the sea and multiple vegetation of pine, broom and mastic trees.

Naturally, so much beauty has come at a high price, and in recent years, with the rise of social media, Es Caló des Moro has become one of the most popular beaches in Mallorca. in the summer months.
And this, together with the small size of the sand space available to place your towel and the fact that the rocks also occupy part of that surface, means that the density of occupation is very high.
If you are looking for a quiet day at the beach, without the hustle and bustle, without a lot of noise and without the occasional accidental footfall or ball hitting you, this cove is probably not what you are looking for.
Now, we don’t want to tell you not to visit, far from it! If you ask us if it is worth including Es Caló des Moro in your route, we would say yes, as for us it is one of the most incredible places in MallorcaBut it’s fair to say that if you go during the summer months you’re likely to be disappointed by the crowds.

How to get to Es Caló des Moro
You have several options to get to Es Caló des Moro, but without a doubt the best is to do it with your own car or motorbike, as the beach is located in an unspoilt enclave with no services nearby.
If you still don’t know how to get around Mallorca, we can help you decide. Check here all the information, choose the vehicle that best suits your needs and rent it at the best price.
Es Caló des Moro is located about 7 kilometres from the municipality of Santanyí, so the first step is to head towards this area from wherever you are on the island.
Once in Santanyí, drive around the village and head towards Cala Llombards along the Ma-6100 road until you reach this second village, where you can park your vehicle and reach Es Caló des Moro.
As soon as you enter Cala Llombards you will see the car park on the left. This is where you should park. It is very important to bear in mind that the car park is free of charge and that access is reduced and limited, so it is advisable to arrive early.
In the past you could get to the beach itself, but in recent years, to discourage and reduce visits to the cove, this car park has been set up to leave your car, motorbike or bicycle, if you are one of the more sporty and adventurous ones.
Now yes! It is only a 1.2km or 14 minute walk from this amazing beach. You will start your way along a tarmac road surrounded by villas until you reach a small dirt road at the end, which will take you down to the beach. Don’t forget to take water with you, as in summer the sun is very hot on the island.
After this walk from Cala Llombards, the only thing left to do is to go down to the beach and take a well-deserved dip. And we say down, because the accesses to the beach are not at sea level. We explain how!
Walking access to Es Caló des Moro
You can reach Es Caló des Moro on foot along two different paths.
The first option, once the road ends, is to follow a path along the cliffs, safe but not signposted, which will take you into the heart of the cove from the sides, enjoying beautiful aerial and panoramic views of the place.
And the other option consists of going down some very steep stairs (very steep is very steep!) where you can “open your mouth” and enjoy the views of Cala Maquer, on your right, and the Cala s’Almunia jetty area, which will be just in front of you. Walk to the left and follow a marked path for 5 minutes. You can’t get lost.
Now it’s time to take a breath and tell us how you feel!

The route is not direct, and you will have to change at Campos, where you can take the 517 line bus that will leave you at the Cala Llombards car park, which we explained earlier, and begin the 14-minute walk.
It is important to know that the price of the ticket varies depending on how you pay.
